Does anyone have any information about Costa Rica or Panama or suggest another place to retire?

If anyone can offer any information About Costa Rica, Panama, retirement destination or other (outside the U.S.) would be greatly appreciated. We would be interested in the following: 1) the cost a modest place to live 2) relative proximity to services such as supermarkets, hospitals, banks, etc 3) Time 4) proximity to the beach 5) Total cost of life 6) The population Approximate Americans in this area any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The modest cost of housing in the city of Panama is affordable (less than $ 500 per month for most luxury) things that burst the seams to much higher prices (over U.S. $ 1000-2000). The beaches are similar. You can live in the highlands or (David, for example) to just below the city. Boquete is more expensive all the time but still a good deal for retirees (the rates, location and equipment). Most facilities are Panama City, is in the area of David, but more basic. Note, if you want options for shopping and food, Panama City is so full. Is approximately 7 hours drive from David. Almost everything is close to the beach … Most options are the life of Panama City and David area an hour or less to certain beaches or more destinations to retire at the beach. Coronado is recommended and is approximately 1.5 hours Panama City. It gives all the basics and some nice amenities and great beaches within easy drive to the city at any time. The overall cost of living is generally divided If you living on base, but if you need even luxury, who has lived in North America, then you will find that housing prices vary really a unreasonable price, good health care is much less, domestic service is very cheap (meal time live in cleanup costs $ 160/month!) And locally produced goods are much less. With the exception of the clothes are really cheap imported goods are generally similar in price. There are no official figures but is estimated at about 25-30,000 Americans live in the region of David / Boquete (Chiriqui Highlands Region). This area has a year "spring" atmosphere that retirees receive really there. If you want your life on the beach in Coronado is recommended. If you like action and choice of the city, many remain with the city of Panama. Bocas del Toro is also very exciting, but it is too rustic for most retirees (not a lot of services or facilities) conclusively Panama offers the world's best retirement program in a country that is very affordable. You can find cheaper (in fact, perhaps the Philippines), but not with better quality equipment and a more secure and stable environment in which we live. You also get to live tax free, get significant discounts on most of things to buy and do and this visa is easily obtained. You can even take your car and household goods duty free here. It's a lot. Concluding, Panama is a beautiful city with skyscrapers and magnificent cities on the beaches and mountains. Take a trip to San Jose and compare. This is much cheaper and much closer to the beaches around here in Panama. For more answers I'll be happy to help. You can send me an e-mail to livingwellinsd@yahoo.com
